Students from the Faculty of Education, Obafemi Awolowo University are undergoing teaching practice in various secondary schools across Osun State. But the situation in Ile Ife is an eye sore. Many of the schools are yet to feel the impact of the state government.
The measure of success for any administration should not be the hullabaloo of praises at the urban centers but the encomium that emanates from the rural areas, particularly on the way the government is bridging the gap between rural illiteracy and urban intelligence.
The poor educational structures in government schools in Ile Ife calls for instant attention. Obande Secondary School, St David’s Grammar School and a host of other public schools in Ife are in pathetic conditions.
Ile Ife, the cradle of the Yoruba kingdom, can be better equipped education wise.
