imprisoned morality

Deflowered by strange hands
Bold and proud to publish the misery
Seen not as a shame today
But cultural cachet
Where no one can stand
The shame and boast of
Being a virgin

Just like the masia group in Kenya
And the modern cities of Nigeria
Today’s fashions are
Simply bait for sexual stimulation.

Ladies engrossed in arrogant
And luxurious brags of flounce
Nudity and patronizes by men of
Low emotional self-esteem

Situations spread across Africa
Like dew in a chilly early morning
Whose fault then?
Consider same sex legality

And gay couples in sacred matrimony
Many compelled to sex slave trading
Profession by certain conditions
Punished by rugged sex and little pay

Sympathetic? Hey it’s simply our
Modern version of slave trade,
An Independent body with
Imprisoned self-sovereignty.

Where gone our morals?
Lost in the air? Swallowed by mundane culture?
Kidnapped by illicit religion?
Or imprisoned by modern outlaws
And betrayed conscience?
Only to wake up from our wealthy
Cultural and religious norms

To find morality and human dignity
Slip away like yesterday,
Reputation and integrity vanish like cinders
In the windy desert

Morals held at the tip
And worn like a loosed garment.
How secured is then our fate?
Painful and shameful!

Not many subscribe to it
Not many can help it
Because modernism conditioned it
And have enslaved our conscience to it

Alluring colonial and economic strokes
Compelling many into slaves
Of lustful passions
Won’t you be determined?
Sexual pleasure is a treasure
Wrapped and stamped fragile
Address to only one being

And only to be set free
In the western nuptials of
Sacred bondage
Called marital sex freedom.
